Every beauty product that was sold
Every single compliment, worth more than gold
She has it all,
But that’s what will make her fall,
If she doesn’t shine the brightest.
She wants perfection
The world to shower her with praise
She believes in her complexion
Is the only place beauty lays
But then she realizes her mistake
And she can’t believe
That it’s not best to be fake
That beauty is more than skin deep.
So she searches in desperation
For something other than the young and callow
But her aspirations
Fell with the the crowd shallow
They worry only what others think
How much others care
To the table all they can bring
Is their obsession of makeup and hair.
She stands up tall
Unfazed by conformity
To prove to all
That despite being in the minority
Of opinions she says,
To everyone she can reach
That beauty she will pledge
Is more than skin deep.
That it dives and hits the bottom of the heart
Where hopes and dreams are alive
And that is where true beauty starts
Where exquisiteness will thrive
So all society will know
They all can see
That where true beauty grows
Is much more than skin deep.
1 Samuel 16:7
“…For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
